Ipex developed a proprietary stratigraphic framework for all the onshore and offshore basins of Brazil. Similar work has also been performed in Colombia, Mexico, Congo RDC, Namibia and Peru.
Each one of the stratigraphic models was built based on seismic and sequence stratigraphy techniques aiming to define sequence boundaries and geometries, system tracks, facies and depositional environments, facies architecture, paleobathymetry. This approach allows IPEX to achieve a better understanding of the distribution and properties, in space and time, of the petroleum system elements, such as seal, reservoir and source rock.
The Stratigraphic Model provides a detailed reservoir, facies and seal distribution, as well as a framework that reduces the risk of miscorrelation between different genetic units.
